NewsByUs is dedicated to the belief that people will display wisdom and exercise sound judgment, if given accurate and complete information.
In today’s world, information is often distorted by those who report it. This is not done with outright lies or with conspiratorial efforts, but rather by being selective on what information is reported and how the report is worded.
Bias in the media requires a person to always consider the source of a report before being comfortable believing the report, believing part of the report, or believing none of the report. Some news organizations, feeling their cause is better served by being the bearers of bad news, have only succeeded in becoming bad bearers of the news.
The reason NewsByUs is different from the ‘mainstream media’ is two fold:
First, NewsByUs admits its bias. We believe there is goodness inherent in people. We believe all human beings have been endowed with a conscience and, if not ignored, that conscience will allow common sense to triumph. We believe that traditional values are not old-fashioned, but are more important in today’s world than at any other time in history. We believe there is a “right” and a “wrong” and that right should prevail and wrong should be defeated.
Second, NewsByUs contributors are not automatons assembled by colleges of journalism. NewsByUs stories are provided by
Citizen Observers whose common sense and values transcend any journalistic coaching.
NewsByUs is news and commentary by the people and for the people. The observers are the people and the reports are
for the people who are fully capable of observing, thinking, and acting for themselves.
